Sally Lee Qian Chun
I am pretty upset over the death of Sally Lee Qian Chun. She was the troubled Form 5 girl who jumped to her death. Apparently she posted her intention to commit suicide and to my horror some of her Facebook friends somehow encouraged her to do so.She did just that by doing that in her school. The experts say that before someone wants to commit suicide they would give cries of help.In Sally's case , she did cry for help.Unfortunately her cry for help went to the wrong authority. Unfortunately we failed in Sally's case. Are we going to fail again in the future? Look like we are gong to keep repeating the mistakes as we as Malaysians do have the habit of sweeping under the carpet as it is not in our culture to talk about committing suicide. We think it would never happen in our Malay culture as we have been taught about the sins of killing oneself. We are not taught to talk and handle it properly. We need to realise it is high time for us to talk about this matter. If you are depressed, please seek help from the right authority. Seek help from parents, relatives, doctors , friends, teachers and counselors.Be responsible.Value life.

Escalator, travelator and Walking
Do you walk today? Of course you do.A friend confided in me that she wished that there is a travelator and escalator abound so she doesn't have to walk a lot.I just smiled at her.Friendship requires a lot of sacrifices and keeping a straight face most of the times.I love walking as the process of walking keeping my body healthy and my mind active.I would say that most Malaysians don't walk as much as other people in other countries.A cab driver in Victoria Station, London was aghast when we asked him to drive to a hotel we booked. He refused to do so as the distance was too short. We were wondered whether he did not want our money. The kind soul kindly showed us the way to the hotel and we ended up dragging our bags slowly to the hotel for about 20 minutes. In Seoul, we learn an older person with a cane walked faster than us much to our dignity.Even the two year old was forced to walk.So we had no choice but to walk.My best friend thought she was travelling with a nut case as I forced her to walk and climb too many stairs on our way to Seoul Tower.I just got to accept walking is not a norm in our society. We wish that our life is full of travelators and escalators to ease our joy of walking. Perhaps it is something to do with our hot humid weather not due to our sheer laziness.
Perspectives
We grow up and realise that people do have their own perspectives on things which might differ from ours.Sometimes their different perspectives might irk and drive us crazy. At times their perspectives lead us to rejoice in the goodness of humankind. As we grow older, we learn to accept , learn and respect other perspectives. We also learn that some people do grow older but never learn to value other people's perspectives. We learn to respect that.

If only they have McDonald's in Perlis
Whenever I travel to foreign lands, there is a familiar landmark that makes me feel at home. That landmark is the famous McDonald's Arch.It doesn't matter whether the Arch is in Alor Setar or in Athens. It is still the McDonald's we know and grow up with.It is the same McDonald's that the young people in Perlis badly need. They just don't understand why in a state that is full of young people and McDonald's hungry fans , there is no McDonald's .Try to explain this situation to these people whose first solid food could be the McDonald's french fries .
They were being fed in their strollers, played the slides, celebrated their birthdays and had their first dates there. Most would continuously have their celebrated events there. Some dream of having their weddings there.Suddenly , they are thrown in a place that has no McDonald's.It's like snatching away a security blanket from a child which tortures the poor child.Looking at the deprived youth who grow up with McDonald's , I would say it is in fact torturing to be in Perlis..the land-of-no-McDonald's though it is the land-of-cheap-local-food.
