MATTA FAIR 2011 (MARCH 11-13 2011)
Matta Fair 2011 will be on March 11-13 2011 at PWTC.This is a much anticipated event for those who seek travel deals.Last year, I did attend the Fair and managed to purchase bargain fare to Europe.There were so many people but it was worth it.This year I won't be making the trip to the Fair as the work schedule is too hectic .That doesn't mean that you shouldn't go.Before you go , do your homework.Make sure you know where do you want to go .If not , you will be overwhelmed with too many choices.Take a deep breathe and just like any Sale, enjoy the lucrative offers.Have Fun.

A visit to the Hospital
We should make a habit of visiting sick people at the hospital.
Why is this so?There are many lessons to be learnt from a simple visit to the hospital.During my visit to the hospital today, I saw many sick people who are fortunate to have their beloved ones caring for them.At the end of the visit, we will appreciate our good health and we are more thankful.I went to visit an old friend today and we were surprised that he has lost a lot of weight.Yet he is in good spirit and totally bored staying at the hospital for nearly two weeks.He was so glad that we came to visit him. I felt guilty for not coming sooner though as I just knew he was admitted to the hospital a few days ago.His mother was glad that his friends came to visit.He is lucky to have a loving mother to care about him.That is why I always salute mothers.They would always love their children unconditionally and in their eyes, their children are simply their children. Then we visited my friend's neighbor.He has diabetes and he had to amputate one of his legs. The visit reminded me of my last visit to the hospital to my late aunt. She too had diabetic and had to amputate one of her legs .After the operation, somehow she lost her spirit to live.My aunt was a very active woman and by not being able to walk dampened her spirit to live.I hope my friend's neighbor would have a different happier path.He obviously has a very caring wife who would help him in this difficult stage.Go to a hospital and there are lessons to be learnt.I am glad that I went to the hospital today...

Umi Kalsom Abdul Majid
KANGAR: A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student is believed to have died in a road accident along Jalan Arau-Kodiang here yesterday.
The body of Umi Kalsom Abdul Majid, 24, was found lying beside the road by a passerby at 7.30am today but the accident is believed to have happened at 11pm yesterday.
Perlis Public Order chief DSP Ibrahim Idris said the victim, a third-year Computer Science student at UiTM's Arau campus, was said to be on her way back to her rented house in Arau from Jitra, Kedah, when her motorcycle skidded and crashed into a concrete retaining wall.
He said Umi Kalsom, who hailed from Mersing, Johor, had gone to Jitra in a motorcycle convoy with three other friends to settle a personal matter, but decided to return to Arau alone.
"Her friends lodged a missing persons report at the Jitra police station at 3am today after she did not answer their phone calls," he told reporters here today.
The victim died at the scene due to severe head injuries and the body was taken to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital. - BERNAMA

Innalillahiwainnailaihi raji'un. I did not know her but every time this happens my heart bleeds. I worry about the safety of all these young people and I know how treacherous this road could be as I do travel this road sometimes at night.I am always afraid that I would make deadly mistakes especially on rainy days.I did make a mistake once while driving along that particular road.I was on my way to the airport and I was driving alone.I took the wrong turn heading to the wrong direction as I followed a car in front of me.That car too made a mistake.So I did what I could think that night.I quickly turned to the nearest exit and drove to the right direction.I know there is ongoing construction there but there is no proper lightning which sometimes could confuse drivers and riders .I don't know what was happening when Umi Kalsom was riding home that night from Jitra.I just hope there wouldn't be any other victim in the future.Just be careful.

The Last PTK
I am not sure what I should write but I have the die-hard fan of this blog and she keeps reminding me to write .Yesterday I received a great news.I went to the last PTK last December and yesterday I got the news that I passed with flying colors.Alhamdulillah . Till today I am still smiling happily.You have no idea how PTK rocked my world.It was a dramatic PTK. 1 hour after I signed up for PTK,the Prime Minister announced that PTK will be abolished in June 2011.Then PTK was no longer fashionable.Everyone was looking forward for the new system cos PTK was darn scary.I had no other choice cos I had already signed up.Before we took the PTK, we had to attend the pre-PTK course which we were given information on what to do during the PTK.During that time, Perlis was having the worst flood .We planned to fly to Kuala Lumpur but unfortunately our flights were cancelled and we had no other way but to go by using the trusty old mini-bus.Beggars could not be choosy.Our trip was nearly cancelled as the bus nearly broke down as it had to go through the flood for several minutes. I prayed hard so that I didn't have to wade the dirty flood water. The company of other supportive souls made the journey more eventful.
The others went back to work on their PTK assignments but yours truly went to Seoul for inspirations. When I returned , I had to work so hard to make up for the lost time.Concerned friends kept asking me whether I had finished my assignments and I kept saying..Not Yet.Thankfully all the assignments were completed several days prior to our departure.We were lucky as we had a great negotiator who negotiated for our cancelled trip with MAS and AirAsia so we chose to fly for our PTK.During our PTK, once again I was lucky to be in the company of supportive colleagues who kept on motivating and sharing their experiences in making my PTK less stressful and more memorable.Looking back, I am so glad I took the last PTK.I can proudly say this , I am a survivor of PTK !
